Ian Marsh Selected to Receive 2017 Ride Scholar Award
Ian Marsh, student of Dr. Bryan Bednarz, was selected as 1 of 4 students to receive a 2017 Ride Scholar Award for his work in cancer research. Ian has worked on several molecularly targeted radiation therapy projects including studies on pediatric neuroblastoma, combination XRT/TRT for head and neck cancer, and immunotherapy.
The Ride is an annual bike race organized by the department of Human Oncology to help support cancer research at the University of Wisconsin. In two years it has raised over half a million dollars in support of this goal.
Ian, along with the other three recipients, was presented the award and recognized for his work during the UW Badger 'Face-off Against Cancer' hockey game on January 27th. The award provides $3000 to help fund his research.
Congratulations Ian for this outstanding recognition!
