Prairie View Elementary hosted a science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) fair where their students shared their own projects next to booths by experts from UW-Madison. The outreach committee brought along the portable ultrasound and Geiger counter to share with the community. Another group from UW brought cases of dead insects as well as live cockroaches and mantises. Students from the school shared projects ranging from the science behind chocolate chip cookies to creating art by coding! A local news outlet even came by to cover the event and interviewed us about medical physics! Thank you to Ian Marsh and community member Scott Zimmerman for helping with this event.
